Born in Kolkata in an intellectual academic family. Received his Ph.D. in Nucelar Physics. Besides Nuclear Physics, he has worked in Particle Physics and Cosmology. He has proopsed an alternative theory of the universe without beginning and end, where time exists in timelessness arena. He is also a painter, poet and philosopher. His major literary work relates the universal epic journey of mankind. It has a dimension similar to Dante`s "Divine Comedy". It tells the story of Tathagata who comes and goes life after life. Anup Rej`s artwork involve cosmic and universal themes of religions, mythologies and philosophies. He is a mystic, who has encountered a cosmic mind. This encounter is told in "Born and Unborn", "The Book of the Will and the World" and "Dialogue on the Mountain". He presently lives in Oslo.
